High Commission of Rwanda Launches “Nshuti” – A 24/7 Virtual Assistant to Enhance Consular Services

FEB 17, 2026

The High Commission of Rwanda in the United Kingdom, with accreditation to Malta and representation to Ireland, is pleased to announce the launch of its Virtual Assistant, Nshuti, an innovative digital service designed to enhance customer experience and improve access to consular information.

Nshuti was developed as part of the High Commission’s commitment to modernising service delivery and strengthening engagement with the Rwandan diaspora, as well as individuals who seek information and support regarding the Mission’s services. The virtual assistant provides instant guidance and responds to enquiries through WhatsApp and the High Commission’s website, helping users quickly access information without the need for phone calls or long waiting times.

This innovation will significantly improve efficiency by reducing call volumes received at the Mission while ensuring that customers receive timely and reliable information. Users can simply send a WhatsApp message to +44 7427 941212 or chat directly via the High Commission’s website. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, offering support at any time and from any location.

Nshuti assists users with a wide range of consular and information services, including:

  • Passport applications and renewals
  • Indagamuntu (National ID) related enquiries
  • Document legalisation and certification
  • Appointment and consular service guidance
  • General enquiries regarding the High Commission

In addition, the Virtual Assistant shares up-to-date information on High Commission activities, including national celebrations, community events, locations, and contact details for diaspora organisations and community representatives.

By introducing Nshuti, the High Commission aims to make its services more accessible, convenient, and user friendly, supporting citizens and service users wherever they are and whenever they require assistance.

High Commissioner Johnston Busingye shared:

“The launch of Nshuti reflects our continued commitment to innovation and excellence in public service. By embracing digital solutions, we are making our services more accessible, responsive, and efficient for our diaspora communities and all those who engage with the High Commission. This initiative represents an important step in improving how we connect with and serve people in today’s digital age.”
